Well, we are officially on the blog scene here and honestly, not sure of what will come of it, but we do feel that it is a great tool to communicate to our friends and alumni who believe in what God is doing here at the USM BSU. Hope you enjoy reading and get a sense of how you can pray for the ministry here.

This summer has been fairly normal. We're in the middle of contacting new students to let them know about Survival Weekend. We met about 350 new students at the new student orientation called "Preview." We are getting geared up for the fall and all the activities coming up.

On a staff note: our interns (Whit Stewart and Brandy Walker) are returning for a second year. We are excited to have them back to serve. They will one day be in a ministry role whether  it's here in the US or overseas. Lloyd spent about two weeks in Asia this summer taking three other BSU Directors to cities showing them ministry opportunities they could take part in with their students. My family and I (Kris) had the chance to go to the Collegiate Minister Fellowship in Monroe, LA at the University of Louisiana-Monroe where our good friend Jenny Harrington is. Jenny is the Associate BCM Director there and is an alumni of Southern Miss. We had a great visit with other college ministers who do what we do.

Well, we want to keep you informed of what is happening around here as we draw closer to school. Thank you for praying and supporting your ministry to the University of Southern Mississippi!

Kris
